This Friday, Dec 1st there will be a public hearing about the fairness of the Spotify Class action settlement. Multiple attorneys will be providing oral arguments about what they see as a lack of fairness in the class settlement. Artists, songwriters, publishers and the general public are free to attend.
One oral argument against the fairness of the settlement will be made by James T. Shearin from the firms of Donahue, Fitzgerald LLP and Pullman & Comley LLC representing over 500 songwriters including the late Tom Petty and Kim Deal. Another will be made by David Given from Phillips, Erlewine, Given & Carlin LLP on behalf of the artist Andrew Paley.
The hearing is taking place at 10AM the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse, 40 Foley Square, New York, NY 10007, Courtroom 906. To be eligible to object to the court you must have notified them at an earlier date.
