Apple Music is slowly but surely making its free Apple Music For Artists more useful. The latest updated allows musicians and their teams to upload and change the bio and profile photos on their artist page on both Apple Music and iTunes.
It's a feature that Spotify For Artists and Pandora AMP users have had for some time.
Any artist with music in iTunes and/or Apple Music can sign up for a free Apple Music For Artists account. While technically still in beta, most artists that apply are approved within days.
New photos can be uploaded and submitted under the manAGE tab on Apple Music For Artists dashboard which also includes analytics. Apple says that THEY must be at least 2400 × 2400.
In June, Apple Music launched album "pre-adds" that allow users to "save" an album to their streaming library prior to release.
All of this is part of an overdue effort by Apple Music to become more artist and indie label friendly. Apple Music still lacks a robust streaming marketing toolkit like Spotify For Artists and Pandora's AMP.
