#FreeFader Trends As Twitter Bans Fader, Pigeons and Planes, Other Top Music Sites

Twitter-music#FreeFader fever spread across the net after Twitter suspended the accounts of a number of top music sites including Fader and Pigeons and Planes on Tuesday.  Twitter has declined to explain the ban, but copyright infringement is likely the reason.

At least four major music sites were suspended by Twitter on Tuesday including Fader, Pigeons and Planes, 2DOPEBOYZ and  Hip Hop N More. In protest, music fans took to Twitter using the hashtag #FreeFader.

Twitter gave now reason for the ban, but this week many music sites tweeted footage from the BET Awards and NBA Awards without permission.

Pigeons and Planes editor in chief Jacob Moore told The Verge that his site was notified of a copyright violation by Viacom, which owns BET. Hip Hop N More editor Navjosh said that his site was likely suspended over a complaint from Atlantic Records for tweeting the track list for Young Thug’s "Beautiful Thugger Girls."

It's unclear in Twitter is taking a tougher stance or just making a one time point about infringement.

Let's us know if you see any other music related suspensions.
