Just in case you weren't sure that there are already a few too many music streamers, comes word that Elon Musk and his Tesla auto brand are in talks to launch their own music service. But why would they not just partner with Spotify or Apple Music?

Tesla is in serious talks with the major labels to launch their own streaming music service, reports Recode, and the automaker has confirmed the move:
“We believe it’s important to have an exceptional in-car experience so our customers can listen to the music they want from whatever source they choose. Our goal is to simply achieve maximum happiness for our customers.”
It's a bit of a slap in the face to Spotify and Slacker who already have selective integration deals with the luxury car brand. But Musk and company want to control the total user experience for their customers and likely want to finds was to make money from them long after they've paid $60,000 plus for their Tesla.
Tesla is believed to be interested in offering multiple tiers of service, starting with a Pandora-like radio offering; and the major labels are more than interested in grabbing a piece of Elon's billions.
